No, The US President’s Agreement To Meet Kim Jung Un Is Not A distraction From “Stormy Daniels” Headlines

Whether it was the harsh regulations or the firm stance Donald Trump took against the North Korean Dictator, it looks like it actually worked! North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has invited officially invited Donald Trump to meet him. The White House has also confirmed that President Trump will accept an invitation by North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to meet.

South Korea’s National Security Office head Chung Eui-Yong told reporters that Mr. Kim has committed to “denuclearisation” and to suspending nuclear or missile tests. The report came after the White House and President Trump were briefed about the situation by South Korean officials’ meeting with Mr. Kim on Monday.

This is surprising, to say the least, considering that both countries were practically at each other throat just a couple of weeks ago. Even though North Korea has agreed to stop their nuclear missile research and testing, President Trump has urged allies to not loosen the sanctions and keep the pressure increasing to make sure a suitable compromise can be made.

“I told him (Trump) that in our meeting that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said that he’s committed to denuclearization,” Mr. Chung said. “Kim pledged that North Korea will refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests.”

“He expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible,” he said. “President Trump appreciated the briefing and said he would meet Kim Jong Un in May to achieve denuclearization.”

White House spokesman Sarah Sanders said Mr. Trump “will accept the invitation to meet with Kim Jong Un at a place and time to be determined”.

She added: “We look forward to the denuclearization of North Korea. In the meantime, all sanctions and maximum pressure must remain.”

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in said it was “a milestone for peace”.

“If President Trump and Chairman Kim meet following an inter-Korean summit, complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula will be put on the right track in earnest,” he said.

As of now, the place where both will meet isn’t decided but we do finally know what North Koreas has committedly agreed to do.  According to the statement that was conveyed to the President and the White House:

  1. Kim is prepared to sit down with the US president
  2. It is “committed to denuclearization”
  3. It will be outing a hold of nuclear test and nuclear missile tests
  4. Acceptance of the fact that US and South Korean military drills “must continue”.

While many Democrats and people that just don’t like Donald Trump would like to dismiss his role in making such a thing possible but Mr. Chung made a point of saying it was President Trump’s “maximum pressure policy” that made all this possible.

Naturally, many have also speculated that this is a move from Kim Jong Un to seemingly be open to talks to promote his own propaganda which is something only time will tell. President Trump’s supporters weren’t shy either to show their support for Donald Trump and what he has accomplished.
