President Trump’s UNGA Speach was Truly Historic

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly’s 73rd session on day two of the week-long event, starting with the progress the US has made over the past two years. From a booming economy – adding $10 trillion in wealth – to adding 4 million new jobs, stock market’s skyrocketing numbers, tax reforms, border security – the construction of a mega border wall – military funding, the Republican shared his administration’s efforts to make America great again with the world.

We are standing up for America and for the American people. And we are also standing up for the world, Mr. Trump remarked while addressing the world leaders and top diplomats.

On a lighter note, it is worth mentioning that the achievements managed to get some laughter out of the world leaders. He took it however very positively and did not take offense which also made the laughs for him instead of on him. Simply put, it was a genius way of turning an awkward situation into a light-hearted one.

Anyhow, the numbers don’t lie and the 72-year old and his administration has been able to craft the policies which speak for themselves. The impact of him getting into power is known to the world. His foreign policy shift may have sparked hatred among some, but, it was the need of the hour that the country should work with Russia and not against one another.

Iran was an important talking point for Mr. Trump, who called on world leaders to isolate the Iranian regime for the destruction it causes in the Middle East, not showing respect to the neighbors. The efforts to isolate Iran must continue unless the regime gives up on aggression, the President observed.

Labeling Iran as the leading sponsor of terrorism across the globe, the 45th President of the United States said that his administration has imposed strict sanctions on Iran’s nuclear program and more such sanctions will follow post-November 05.

“We cannot allow the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism to possess the planet’s most dangerous weapons. We cannot allow a regime that chants death to America and that threatens Israel with annihilation”, he remarked. While US’s sovereignty is understood, the President’s growing interest in Israel, talking about the well-being of Israel on all platforms, doesn’t sit well with some of the Muslim countries who simply do not want to see any peace brokered between the Palestinians and Isreal in order for them to keep using the issue to advance their own agendas.

Mr. Trump was all against the ideology of globalism and urged the world to move on and follow their own customs and traditions instead of waiting for global bodies like the UN to dictate terms. The Republican’s America first policy was evident from the very first word he spoke, which bodes well for the people of America. For the rest of the world? Time will tell.
