World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) fans are in for a treat as the world will witness the biggest ever Royal Rumble – a professional wrestling event where wrestlers enter the ring at timed intervals – match consisting of 50 WWE superstars. The historical event, considering the Royal Rumble has never comprised of more than 40 wrestlers, will be held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Friday 27th April.

The biggest stars of the WWE will be competing for a chance to win the contest in a bid to get a championship match at the Wrestlemania. The latest edition of the marquee event took place on January 29, 2018, at The Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia, with Shinsuke Nakamura emerging as victorious in the 30-man event. The winner of the most recent event, Nakamura is likely to face AJ Styles at the upcoming major event Wrestlemania in April.
Superstars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy were a part of the special event which took place in January earlier this year with the lesser known Shinsuke Nakamura eliminating Cena and Reigns to book a ticket to face off AJ Styles at Wrestlemania in April.
The biggest ever Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia is a part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 – the biggest economic reform goal to reduce the Kingdom’s dependence on oil – as the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, better known as MBS, has been constantly working hard to improve the country’s image in global circles, which is evident from the social reforms and anti-corruption crackdown in November last year.
The grand event will feature some of the biggest WWE superstars including John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, The New Day, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton and the last time’s winner Shinsuke Nakamura.

The revival of cinema, fashion industry, and other entertainment-related events has sparked a ray of positive enthusiasm among the nation and the introduction of wrestling in the country will do wonders for MBS and the Kingdom.
As someone who has an Arab background and has a ton of family living in Saudi Arabia, I am beyond excited for this one. https://t.co/iJ8VPfbBrj

WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon is very excited about the marquee event taking place in the Kingdom saying, “The Greatest Royal Rumble will be a spectacle of historic proportions. Our partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority reflects a long-term commitment to present WWE’s world-class entertainment to a global audience on a grander scale than ever before”.
The event is a part of a 10-year agreement between the Saudi General Sports Authority and WWE, aimed primarily at supporting the Vision 2030. Other major wrestling events are also likely to take place in the country in the coming years.
