Last Friday, the 16th of February, Robert Mueller, who is a Special Counsel overseeing the case involving Russian collusion with the 2016 US presidency, indicted 13 people. As of today, that has risen to 19, and they include 13 Russian nationals, three Russian companies, one man from California, one London-based lawyer, and four former Trump advisers. At least 5 of these people have already pleaded guilty of collusion.

The five who plead guilty are as follows:

  1. George Papadopoulos – who plead guilty for lying to the FBI
  2. Michael Flynn – who also lied to the FBI
  3. Rick Gates – plead guilty for lying to the FBI and one count of conspiracy.
  4. Richard Pinedo – Committed identity theft in connection with the 13 Russian indictments.
  5. Alex van der Zwaan – Lied to the FBI

As more and more people are being found in connection with Russia, the US population is on edge.

Paul Manifort one of the people who were indicted (although he pleads not guilty) claimed in a statement:

“Notwithstanding that Rick Gates pleaded today, I continue to maintain my innocence,” he said. “I had hoped and expected my business colleague would have had the strength to continue the battle to prove our innocence. For reasons yet to surface he chose to do otherwise. This does not alter my commitment to defend myself against the untrue piled up charges contained in the indictments against me.”

Manafort has been indicted with many things, such conspiracy, money laundering, false statements to the FBI, and failure to disclose foreign assets. Although recently, Mueller filed a new case in Virginia, with tax fraud, financial fraud, and bank fraud charges.

Manafort holds down that he is innocent, and that the charges are false and piled up in order to pin the blame on him. Since Manafort was vital in the US president’s campaign, as well as had ties with other people believed to be involved in the collision, it seems relevant to see if Manafort has any formation.

“If Mueller’s team can threaten criminal charges against Manafort, they could use that as leverage to convince him to cooperate,” said an anonymous source to Routers.

When it came to the indictments, Trump had a few choice words to say on Twitter, such as:

“If it was the GOAL of Russia to create discord, disruption and chaos within the U.S. then, with all of the Committee Hearings, Investigations and Party hatred, they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. They are laughing their asses off in Moscow. Get smart America!” and “General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!”

And that is not all. The House Republicans recently wrote a report claiming that the FBI illegally spied on American Citizens while being paid by the democratic party. They apparently did this in order to prove Russian collusion. They stated in a memo:

“The American people now clearly understand that the FBI used political dirt paid for by the Democratic Party to spy on an American citizen from the Republican Party. Furthermore, the FISA court was misled about Mr. Page’s past interactions with the FBI in which he helped build a case against Russian operatives in America who were brought to justice. It defies belief that the Department of Justice and FBI failed to provide information to a secret court that they had provided to an open federal court regarding their past interactions with Mr. Page.”

However, this might not be the full story, as the Democrats were finally able to publish their response just recently.

Now things are heating up when it comes to the possible collusion with many parties to influence the US election. However, only time will tell if there is enough evidence. And if there is, there is very little data to go on in terms of how America as a whole will address the issue of election fraud. However, it is noted that a lot of people are in the crosshairs of the FBI. Only time can tell what the impact will be.
